Confirmed! ABS-CBN is back in the free TV arena, albeit in a different setup.
Five months after the Kapamilya network was forced to shut down their free-to-air outlets on television and radio, they are now set to return via a new blocktime with Jesus Is Lord-owned ZOE Broadcasting Network. Under the arrangement, ABS-CBN will provide entertainment and informative programming to the viewers of ZOE TV on channel 11. It’s then ultimately renamed as today as A2Z to reflect ABS-CBN, its former frequency 2, and ZOE – the owner of eleven.
Beginning October 10, programs like It’s Showtime, ASAP Natin ‘To, educational shows from Knowledge Channel, will lead the list of Kapamilya shows that will air on free TV channel 11. Alongside those, ZOE will also supply Christian-oriented and inspirational programs for A2Z. News programs, however, are rumored to pool from programs on TeleRadyo, ANC, and Kapamilya Channel.
Speaking of Kapamilya Channel, it’s believed that the pay TV channel will remain operational despite the launch of A2Z on Saturday.
For the past few months, ABS-CBN programs were only seen on cable, satellite TV, online. Livestreaming also became widely available on Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube, along with iWantTFC.
