On the day of 5 Plus’ rebrand to One Sports, teasers began airing on the flagship station, 5, regarding something One-derful.
In the video, News5 reporter Laila Pangilinan is heard counting from five to one, with the last number being played to spell the word one-derful. It also teased the viewers to wait until April 13 to see what’s in store for them. The top speculation as of the moment regarding the plug is that a certain One TV will start airing on Channel 5.
Despite the company not saying a word about it, traces about the alleged new branding can already found elsewhere.
In the Facebook post below, CrystalSky Multimedia has announced that an ‘Ultraman’ movie will have its premiere on what is going to be One TV. Furthermore, it’s slated to air between 4:30 to 6:30pm on a Thursday, a timeslot that is existing on the current TV5 schedule and is used for the rerun of teledrama Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak.
At the end of the teaser, even a logo of One TV is seen, sparking more intrigue to this rumored TV5 replacement.
If ever the revamp is indeed happening soon, it’s interesting to see how the network would be similar or different to the TV5 that we have today. Plus, what the channel’s definite proposition be.
Till then, we would only be able to speculate and wonder how huge this change would be for the embattled TV station.
Update:
