The Kapamilya network faces a quo warranto case filed by the Office of the Solicitor General. The case, submitted today before the Supreme Court, aims to invalidate/nullify ABS-CBN’s legislative franchise to operate that was passed in 1995.
‘Parasite’ makes history as the first South Korean film to win Oscars Best Picture
The South Korean dark comedy-thriller ‘Parasite’ bagged 4 awards out of its 6 nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards. The film took the Best Screenplay and Best International Feature. Director Bong Joon-ho also won as the best director.
For the very first time, a South Korean film also won the most coveted Best Picture Award. This also comes as a push by the AMPAS to include more diversity to the film body.
