More than the initial estimates of the airport operator.
In a statement, airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) reported the official passenger figures for the Undas travel period from October 27 to November 4, 2026.
According to the firm, the three terminals of teh Ninoy Aquino International Airport saw 1,291,885 passengers during this period, compared with 1,237,475 during the same period last year (a 4.4% increase).
The total was also 3.4% above its initial projection of 1.25 million passengers or a conservative 1% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
During this period, International passenger traffic rose 3.94% to 649,691 (from 625,056 a year earlier), while domestic traffic was also up 4.86% to 642,19 (from 612,419 in 2025).
October 30 (Friday) was also its busiest day, with 153,901 passengers passing through the airport — four thousand more than the initial estimate of 149,216.
NNIC also noted that it continues to improve passenger processing, terminal access, and airport facilities as NAIA accommodates growing travel demand, even outside of the peak travel season.
CCTV OPERATIONS HANDED TO NNIC
Meanwhile, on Friday, November 6, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon announced that the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has turned over the closed circuit television (CCTV) system to the NNIC.
According to the Secretary, there are over 2,100 CCTV cameras installed throughout the NAIA complex.
Both NNIC and MIAA will then conduct a joint assessment to identify any remaining blind spots and prevent incidents of theft at the airport.
“Kapag may insidente, meron nang established protocols ano ang gagawin sa footage, paano mag-imbestiga para ma-pinpoint ng mabilis sino ‘yung may sala at mai-coordinate agad sa law enforcement,” he said.
The move comes days after Dizon personally aired his frustration and berated MIAA for not handing the entire CCTV operations over to NNIC, two years after the airport operations and management was transitioned to the consortium in September 2024, under a public-private partnership model.
