A viral video has since caused questions from netizens.

On Tuesday, November 3, K-pop star and actor Choi Minho of the boy band SHINee posted an apology statement on his social media page.

The said letter came after a video circulated online of him having a “pacemaker” at the recent marathon in Seoul, South Korea last November 1 (Sunday).

He wrote, “I am sorry for disappointing so many of you at the marathon I participated in on November 1st. Everything that happened was due to my shortcomings, and as someone who cherishes and loves sports, I feel deeply ashamed.”

The 34-year-old also said that he apologizes for causing concern and expressed, “I will pay closer attention to ensure this does not happen again and will strive to always show you my best self.”

There, he covered the 42.195-kilometer course and completed it in three hours and 18 seconds. Although, that was questioned by other participants who asked whether such assistance was allowed.

“I, too, do not accept the results of this marathon, and I will not forget the lessons I learned from this process. I send my respect to all the runners who work hard and shed countless drops of sweat,” he continued.
