The restaurant is one of the 31 establishments that successfully received the said award.
On Thursday, October 29, the Michelin Guide announced the top restaurants in Manila and environs and Cebu that received its coveted star ratings, Michelin Selected distinction, and the Bib Gourmand award.
This year, the lattermost saw an increase of six restaurants from the initial list that came out in 2025, with many of last year’s awardees being able to retain their classification.
Among them is Cochi by actor-chef Marvin Agustin, who has received the Bib Gourmand for thr second straight year.
In a social media post, the star of the TV5 series Mommy Guard, dedicated the award to the entire team behind his eponymous restaurant known for its specialty food item that is the cochinillo.
“This recognition belongs to our entire team. Behind it are countless hours of hard work, discipline, dedication, and genuine love for what we do,” he wrote in the caption of the post where he attached a picture of him while holding the red plaque from the Michelin Guide.
He continued, “I couldn’t be prouder of our team. You deserve this moment. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat! Congratulations to all of us!”
127 restaurants were recognized in the 2027 list, with two stars having been awarded for the second consecutive year to Helm, which is the lone Filipino restaurant to earn the said rating to date.
Meanwhile, nine restaurants earned one star rating: Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inato, Kasa Palma, Linamnam, Toyo Eatery, Flow.
Lastly, 86 were included in the Michelin Selected category.
Special awards were also handed out such as the Service Award for Clyde Joseph Zafra of Tito Boy, Young Chef Award to Francis Lacson of Digamo, Exceptional Cocktails Award to Ron Job Sanchez of Automat, and Opening of the Year for Frances Tariga of Tadhana.
