On October 30 (Friday), just days after the P-pop Kings celebrated their eighth anniversary, SB19 unveiled the latest version of their popular 2023 single GENTO.
This time, they have tapped another popular personality in Filipino-Japanese pop star Kento Nakajima as their collaborator for the brand new version of the song, which blends Filipino, English, and Nihongo in one solid track.
Nakajima, who performed the Japanese lyrics, also teamed up with SB19 Pablo (credited as John Paulo Nase of Radkidz) as co-songwriter and co-composer.
The release of the track comes more than two months after their paths crossed during SB19’s appearance in the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo, Japan last August.
There, the quintet composed of Josh, Stell, Pablo, Felip, and Justin, met with Nakajima after their Osaka performance and hinted on a collaboration after meeting over a yakiniku meal.
As they took the Pacific Stage, where they brought the house down by performing their bangers such as DAM, Crimzone, and their 2023 hit single GENTO—where the Filipino-Japanse idol performed the Nihongo lyrics of the song.
Aside from the power collab, the group also performed their other singles such as Moonlight, Emoji, I Want You, Dungka, VISA, and their latest single entitled Lawless.
Meanwhile, just last weekend, SB19 mounted their successful One Zone Fest concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City—where they performed alongside labelmates XONARA and J2X (Coach Jay) on the first night, while the latter became their eighth anniversary concert.
