It was a segment that spanned the entire episode and brought Madlang People back to the memorable on-air moments of the entire Showtime family.
Last Saturday, October 24, longest-running Kapamilya noontime variety program It’s Showtime officially celebrated its 17th anniversary—as it was the exact same day and date of its premiere back in 2009.
To celebrate the occasion, the second edition of the It’s Showtime AWAAARD was held, which saw the hosts and solid Showtimers take a trip down memory lane to revisit some of the funniest moments of the show in recent years.
The segment was hosted by Ryan Bang, Jackie Gonzaga, Darren Espanto and guest hosts Brent Manalo and Bianca Umali.
Serving as special presenters during the show were no less than former ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos, GMA executive Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Ruffa Gutierrez, Kyle Echarri, Fyang Smith, Joaquin Arce, and Inigo Jose.
The award ceremony, being lighthearted in nature, saw not just the funny acceptance speeches by hosts, but also their antics.
Present at the occasion were main hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, together with Jugs Jugueta, Ogie Alcasid, and Amy Perez.
In the latter part of the program, the studio turned emotional as Tyang Amy was conferred the It’s Showtime It’s About Time Lifetime Sa Noontime Award, which recognized her role as a mother figure to the show and her long run as host on noontime, dating back to Magandang Tanghali, Bayan.
In her emotional acceptance, Tyang Amy reflected on the hosts’ strong bond and thanked the Madlang People for their continued support through the years.
She also expressed her love for everyone and even recited how each member of the Showtime family loves to have their meals prepared.
Apart from It’s Showtime AWAAARD, throughout the entire week, Madlang People were entertained through the soecial celebrity editions of Miss Q&A, which saw winners in different divisions.
Laro-Laro Pick also gave away PHP500,000 to a student leader last Thursday, October 23.
