Adding another retail option for eligible travelers arriving in or departing from Bohol.
Last July, the new Duty Free Philippines store officially opened at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA).
Located at the International Departures, this newly opened store gives passengers another opportunity to shop, while traveling through the province’s primary air gateway.
Notably, its opening adds to the regional airport’s evolving commercial environment, where travelers can find a mix of retail, dining, and locally oriented offerings within the terminal.
Duty Free Philippines brings its established duty-free shopping experience to BPIA, complementing the airport’s growing selection of stores that feature a mix of local chains and grassroots brands from the province.
The said store is a branch of the government-licensed retailer offering duty- and tax-free merchandise for eligible travelers.
According to the Bureau of Customs, eligible customers include incoming foreign and Filipino travelers, balikbayans and overseas Filipino workers, as well as departing passengers with confirmed international bookings, subject to applicable rules and purchase limits.
“As BPIA continues to strengthen its role as a gateway to Bohol, we also want to make sure our passengers have more options while they are at the airport,” said Aldwin Uy, General Manager of Bohol-Panglao International Airport.
“Bringing in more retail offerings like Duty Free Philippines gives travelers greater choice and contributes to creating a more complete, world-class airport experience, whether they are arriving in Bohol or heading home,” he added.
The opening comes as BPIA continues to develop its commercial offerings alongside its role as a gateway to one of the Philippines’ leading tourism destinations.
