They are the latest in the increasing number of sub-units formed by the band.
On Monday, October 19, Jeonghan Yoon and Joshua Hong, members of the Korean pop band SEVENTEEN, formally debuted as a sub-unit under the name JEONGHAN X JOSHUA.
For their first release, they dropped the mini-album entitled Dreamscape, which carries the song 12 o’clock as its lead single.
The said album’s name is derived from the word “dreamscape” that means landscape of dreams, their agency explained in a previous press statement.
Meanwhile, concurrent with the album, the music video for 12 o’clock was also published on the same day, with the video running for two minutes and 28 seconds having been viewed more than 380,000 times, as of this writing.
Also part of the mini-album are Like you, Outside, One plus one, and No looking back. In addition, also featured are Not personal (which is Joshua’s solo) and Coloring by Jeonghan.
This album explores two dimensions of dreaming, which are “unconscious fantasies, and ideals we aspire to make real.”
“Through music, the album traces the endless cycle and collision of these two kinds of dreams — fantasies born from the unconscious and ideals pursued in reality — as they blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy and open up a new sensory world,” the company furthered.
SEVENTEEN is known multiple hit tracks like Pretty U, Aju Nice, Don’t Wanna Cry, Clap, Oh My, Home, Hit, Fear, Left and Right, Home; Run, Ready To Love, Hot, and Super, among others.
JEONGHAN X JOSHUA is the latest sub-unit of the band, with the likes of BSS, JxW (Jeonghan and Wonwoo), CxM (S.Coups and Mingyu), V8 (Vernon and The8) being some of these units.
Recently, it was announced a three-year-long hiatus from group activities in light of the said military service enlistment of members. In addition, all 13 members have also renewed their individual contracts with Pledis Entertainment.
