Anko’s Lou Rolloda shares more about Christmas Collection, how to transform space for the festive season

It is just less than 10 weeks before the much-awaited Christmas Day. While many are still holding off to their all-out plans for the festivities until after the Halloween season, it is no reason to not prepare for what could be considered the most important holiday on the Filipino calendar.

Australian home and lifestyle brand Anko has adapted to that culture and recently launched their Christmas collection under the “Making Christmas Brighter Together” campaign this year.

Maria Lourdes Sharon “Lou” Rulloda serves as the Merchandise Manager for Anko Philippines. She combines a data-driven approach with a deep understanding of customer needs to shape a product range that delivers great value for Filipino families.

When she was asked about this year’s collection, she noted that the Christmas Trim and Decor collection takes a playful approach to Christmas decorating, with pieces that can be mixed, matched, and layered throughout the home.

“With over 200 pieces, it covers everything from Christmas trees and ornaments to tabletop decorations and gift-wrapping essentials, so you can build a festive look without transforming the entire house at once,” she disclosed.

She then listed various items they have in store, such as ornaments with playful twists, tabletop items, and those suited for gufyting.

Among them are the Striped Bows, the 2ft Light Up Mini Pink Christmas Gree, Mkni Snow Globes, Bow and Santa Mugs, Bow Stockings, and more.

Lou also revealed Anko’s best-selling items for Christmas gifting, which she said are stuff that  shoppers keep coming back for.

“For the home enthusiast, our candles are a customer favorite. They come in Berry Bliss, Sweet Vanilla, Coconut Crush, Tropicana, and Ocean Sea Salt… and they look as good as they smell,” she shared.

Furthermore, “For the kids, little plushie friends are always a hit, like our Backpack Plushies in avocado, bear, and penguin designs. Our Magnetic Tile Sets in dinosaur, forest, and mini castle designs are a hit with parents too, because they bring a whole new world of indoor adventures.”

For those into their beauty products, she said that the line is full of best-sellers, especially the lip products.

“The Lip Oil in cute pink shades, the Lip Jelly,  and the Lip Stains with a soft powder finish are everyday affordable picks that make gifting easy and fun,” the Merchandise Manager divulged.

Lou also shared that Anko is able to keep items affordable without cutting corners by having their products designrd and produced in-house and source directly, while also offering a wide range of pieces.

“You’ll find plenty of quality items at ₱150 and below, like our Mini Snow Globes and Christmas Mouse Plushies, alongside statement pieces that are still within everyday affordable prices,” she added.

But planning and purchasing these decorative items with you are not enough, as you also need to have them set up to transform your space.

Hence, Lou dispensed some easy ways on how to style your home. “Right now, the trend is bringing a playful touch to traditional Christmas decor,” she shared, noting that there are three easy ways to do it.

“First, keep the red and add pops of pink and stripes. Red is still in, but pink and stripes make it even more fun. Your Christmas wreath is already festive, but with Anko’s Velvet Bows, it gets that pop of personality and color. For the tablescape, the pink and red Bauble Wreaths  make the dining table more inviting and fun for Noche Buena,” the Anko boss said.

She continued: “Second, bring in nature-inspired styles. The lush greens of the Flocked Mini Christmas Tree, the Light Up Village House, and the House Candle, give the home a fresh, natural feel.”

“Third, add quirky decor that brings even more personality. The Sitting Christmas Characters,  in candy cane and Christmas tree designs, and the Santa Countdown Calendar are fun additions that make the home feel like yours,” furthered Rulloda.

She also noted that the easiest way to do this is to mix and match these themed items with the everyday decor that you already have at home and add Christmas touches “little by little.”

“Doing it piece by piece makes it easier to see what you need next, instead of buying everything at once,” said Lou.

Anko was established in 2017 and is part of the Kmart Group, which includes Kmart Australia, Target Australia, and Anko Global, and is owned by Wesfarmers Ltd, one of the leading ASX-listed companies in Australia.

It was launched in the Philippines in November 2024 and offers on-trend product designs across categories such as homewares, bedding, toys, beauty, travel, and more.

The items are now available at Anko stores in Glorietta 2, Alabang Town Center, TriNoma, Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and Gateway Mall 1.
