For the benefit of athletes, as well as the general public.
Last October 12 (Monday), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Patrick Gregorio inspected the ongoing construction works at the PSC National Training Center inside Teachers’ Camp in Baguio City.
Construction is in full swing for the artificial football pitch, pickleball court, and 3×3 basketball court.
The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is handling the artificial football pitch, while the MVP Sports Foundation is responsible for the pickleball and 3×3 basketball courts.
“Ito na po, by November, ang PFF-PSC Football Pitch. Matagal na nating ginagawa, naulanan lang. But, ayon sa PFF President John Gutierrez, end of November tapos na po ito,” noted PSC chairman Gregorio.
“I’m sure the people of Baguio and all the players from Luzon, they are looking forward to this world-class football pitch.”
He also noted that the basketball 3×3 and pickleball courts will also finish around the same time as the pitch.
“We are also finishing the 3×3 court, the pickleball court. Lahat po ‘yan ay (matatapos) by end of November at para sa mga taga-Baguio as part of our wellness campaign,” he said, emphasizing that it is for the benefit of the members of the national team who will train in the “Summer Capital.”
To conclude, Gregorio said: “Kami po sa PSC ay tuloy-tuloy lang ang pag-develop ng regional training centers and ang showpiece po natin ay ang Baguio and let other cities, municipalities, and provinces follow suit.”
Also present at the site for inspection were Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, PGF President John Gutierrez, MVPSF President Atty. Bill Pamintuan, and Executive Director Paolo Trillo.
