With netizens jokingly calling her as Asia’s Queen of Plot Twists and Asia’s Queen of Mash-up.
Last Sunday, October 11, the country’s longest-running musical variety show, ASAP XP, held its next out-of-town show at the Lapid Arena in Pampanga.
However, the star-studded event gained attention online after a specific portion of the show equally bemused and entertained audiences at the venue.
Specifically, the moment when actress Jane De Leon appeared on stage for a joint production number with other celebrities, including Belle Mariano.
The first to draw amusement from viewers was the introduction of Mariano, especially with her spiels beinhg “who run the world?”—which led them to believing that a performance of Beyoncé’s hit song Run The World was coming.
However, it was short-lived as the background audio shifted to the instrumental version of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face.
But a few seconds into the song, Jane went up the stage and started singing Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko by VST and Co.
The clip has since gained millions of views and was re-uploaded on various social media platforms.
One user commented, “Parang ‘never let them know your next move’ ang atake, ah.”
Meanwhile, others jokingly gave her the titles of Asia’s Queen of Plot Twists and Asia’s Queen of Mash-up over the said performance.
Amid the clip’s circulation, Jane took to social media to respond. “‘I-poker face mo at isasayaw ko…’ 😭 ALIW KAYOO HAHAHAHA,” she wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday, October 14.
Meanwhile, ASAP XP has since confirmed that she will be participating in their upcoming show in Isabela.
ASAP XP, now a co-production between ABS-CBN Studios and TV5, will air every Sunday night at 7:00 pm across different platforms starting October 18.
