The Philippines’ longest-running reality show franchise is making a comeback later this month.
In a social media post on Thursday, October 1, the reality program Pinoy Big Brother made a major announcement regarding its anticipated Collab 3.0 regular season.
According to the show, in the caption of the said post: “MAY ANNOUNCEMENT SI KUYA! Magbubukas na ulit ang bahay niya. This October na!”
However, the exact date has not yet been publicly disclosed, as of this writing.
At the ABS-CBN Annual Stockholders’ Meeting last August, Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes disclosed more information regarding the new season of the reality show.
“We are launching a new PBB season this year in partnership with GMA,” the executive affirmed the continued broadcast of the show on GMA Network, which co-produced the recent Celebrity Collab and Celebrity Collab 2.0 seasons.
This season will also make history as the upcoming set of contestants will become the first to experience living together inside a new house where the show will be produced moving forward.
The former site of the house, located right across the ELJ Communications Center in Quezon City, was closed down for good last April after hosting its last-ever set of contestants during the Celebrity Collab 2.0 season that ended its run last February.
The former house sat on a land that was previously leased by ABS-CBN and became the site where all of the past 18 editions of the hit franchise were produced in the past two decades.
Furthermore, it was also briefly used for another format, Pinoy Dream Academy, as well as a training camp for Star Hunt trainees, which include P-pop groups BINI and BGYO.
“We will be moving to a new PBB house which will be more cost efficient for us,” Vidantes noted, without revealing the location of thebnew PBB house.
Collab 3.0 will be a regular season, with participants expected to be Filipinos aged 18 to 35 years old.
