The two phenomenal stars will join forces for a series soon.
On Monday, September 28, streaming platform Viva One and production company Studio Viva jointly unveiled the company’s first Korean series adaptation.
It is none other than the 2017 romantic-comedy and slice-of-life series Fight For My Way, which originally starred Park Seo-jun, Kim Ji-won, Ahn Jae-hong, and Song Ha-yoon.
In the Philippine remake, Viva has tapped two of showbusiness’ phenomenal personalities, who shot to different levels of fame in recent memory.
Taking on the male lead character is the one-and-only Pambansang Ginoo, David Licauco, whose localized character will be given the name of Hanz. He is described as “pogi” and “malakas,” and someone who is always “fighting for (his) passion.”
Meanwhile, paired opposite him is the Nation’s Mutya, Ashtine Olviga, who will play the part of Aira—“cute at walang inuurungan” and is “fighting for her dreams.”
To complete the “Crazy Fantastic Four” squad, Mccoy De Leon and Aubrey Caraan have been tapped to portray Manny and Sally, respectively. The former is the “smart, practical, and brain of the group” and is “fighting for his growth,” while the latter is the “simple girl” who is always ready to assist as she also “fights for love.”
It was also confirmed that Crisanto B. Aquino will be at helm of the Fight For My Way Philippine adaptation as its director.
At present, the official date when the show will begin streaming has yet to be announced.
Viva One was launched in January 2023 under its original name Viva Prime. It was touted as the family-friendly alternative to the adult-centric VMX platform.
The said streaming service eventually saw breakout success through the successive and massively hit dramas adapted from various online novels such as the University Series, Ang Mutya Ng Section E, Seducing Drake Palma, and Hell University, among others.
