A fitting comeback for the show once hailed as the “Trending Capital of the Philippines.”

On Sunday, September 13, the long-running talk show Gandang Gabi Vice, hosted by the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda, made its comeback after a six-year hiatus.

For the first time ever, it was shown on GMA Network on free-to-air television, with livestream and the Uncut version of the episode seen on ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant.

Sitting down with the host-comedian as the first guest in this new season is no less than Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.

The said episode began with a friendly chat between the two superstars in local showbusiness. They even playfully did a mini-skit prior to their conversation, where they used signboards—similar to how it was during the height of the AlDub phenomenon on Eat Bulaga.

The said phenomenon, which was formed through Alden’s accidental partnership with Maine Mendoza and the birth of the iconic Kalyeserye segment, became an early ice-breaker for both Vice and Alden.

At that time, both Eat Bulaga and Vice’s noontime program It’s Showtime were locked in an intense ratings match, which the EB lorded over.

Hence, Vice and Alden talked about both sides of the coin, as the host-comedian shared how challenging those times were for the Madlang People, while the actor narrated how magical those times were for him and the Dabarkads.

Deeper into their conversation, the stars loosened up and talked about more personal matters, with Alden revealing his unusual food combinations and even his love life.

Touching upon the subject, the fun and playful encounter became a heart-to-heart talk, with the Kapuso actor being visibly moved and was already in tears as he expressed his frustrations.

In a post on her account on X, formerly Twitter, Vice noted that the actor’s breakdown took almost 10 minutes.

“And parang ayaw ko ng ituloy yung interview kasi awang awa ako sa kanya. Grabe yung iyak nya,” she told. Although, she shared that it was also Alden who insisted to still continue with their interview.

Haaaayyy!!! love you Alden!” Vice furthered.

In response, Alden said, “I love you Vice.”

Meanwhile, other highlights of the said interview were other skit where Alden poked fun on his viral introduction of “Baguio” in a beauty pageant and his unfiltered admission of other very personal facts about him, such as his bowel behavior and even his sex life.

On X (formerly Twitter), as well as other social medoa platforms, clips of the interview have already widely circulated, with some reaching tens of thousands of likes and more than a million views.

Gandang Gabi Vice, a production of ABS-CBN Studios, airs every Sunday at 10:00 pm on GMA and iWant.

As for Alden, his series with Nadine Lustre—Love, Siargao—will soon air on GMA Network beginning this September 28 (Monday), while he is also currently filming the medical drama series Code Gray.
