At the book launching event of celebrity manager and entertainment journalist Noel Ferrer, which happened during the final day of the Manila International Book Fair on Sunday, September 13, several personalities sent their greetings to him.
Among them is Pasig City Vice Mayor Vico Sotto, who said in a pre-recorded video: “Congratulations, Sir Noel Ferrer on your book launch for Level Up: Narrating Stardom, Substance and Service. Sir Noel has been exhibiting the example of integrity and excellence in his field. So, I’m really looking forward to reading his book,” said the local chief executive.
With the Pasig City Mayor’s message being played last, Ferrer reacted to it first and even dropped a major news about the 36-year-old politician’s future plans.
Contrary to expectations of his fans and even those who are pursuing him to run for higher office by the end of his three-term stint in 2028 as the city leader, Sotto is expected to take a step back from the government.
Instead, he will be pursuing his role as an educator by becoming an instructor at the Ateneo de Manila University by the end of his term in June 2028.
“Rason para mag-enroll kayo sa Ateneo… Vico Sotto is teaching at Ateneo after his term,” Ferrer, who is also part of the faculty confirmed at the event.
This will serve as a homecoming for the Mayor, who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science in 2011 and earned his Master’s degree in public management from the prestigious university.
At present, the exact details about the course he will be teaching are not yet revealed. Sotto also remains mum on the matter, but he had already previously noted that he will not seek any higher position after the expiration of his term.
