A new title for the Philippines.
On Saturday, September 12, Filipino pageant king John Bonifacio, the reigning Mister Pilipinas Cosmopolitan 2026, competed in the 4th Mister Cosmopolitan held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
During which, he competed against 19 other bets from different countries to win the said contest, where he also got the special awards for Best Physique and Best Catwalk.
Moreover, he was also one of the frontrunners in the Mister Popular category, having croseed the 100,000 points milestone before the closing of the voting period. He was, however, defeated in the said category by United Kingdom’s Allain Joshua del Rosario.
Nonetheless, that did not affect the fighting chance of Bonifacio, who emerged victorious as the first-ever Mister Cosmopolitan from the Philippines.
In a video message posted on the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide page, Bonifacio expressed his gratitude after his win. “Maraming maraming salamat po sa mga Filipino fans na sumuporta sa akin. We did it, guys! Mabuhay, Philippines. Para sa inyo ito!” he said.
Hailing from Pampanga, the 27-year-old is a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) before transitioning to the world of modeling and pageantry.
Bonifacio is also the latest Pinoy pageant king to score a major win or placement on the international stage, with his fellow Mister Pilipinas Worldwide winner Felipe Marasigan securing a Top 20 finish at the Mister Supranational pageant last August being one of the most recent ones.
