New personalities who will add more fun to the comebacking format.
In a report on ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, more details regarding the return of Gandang Gabi Vice were officially announced.
Foremost, as previously stated by host Vice Ganda on the noontime variety show It’s Showtime, she has already taped the first episode of the program’s first season in six years.
Apart from that, it was also revealed that Kapuso star Vince Maristela, comedians Divine Tetay and Verna will join the show as the Geng Gang, who will bring more color to the show.
In her interview, Vice said that it was ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes who requested that the show introduces something new for the audience.
“‘Yun kasi talaga ang gusto ni Tita Cory… Hindi pupwedeng babalik nang gano’n lang din,” the host-comedian said, noting that they decided to inject another flavor to the show that had almost nine years in its original run from May 2011 to March 2020.
Vice has also noted that the show can also be enjoyed in two ways and said that while the GMA telecast will still be fun, there will surely be something different for viewers who will stream the uncut version of the episodes on ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant.
“Nakakatawa, for sure, ang i-eere namin sa GMA. Hindi kami makakapayag na hindi. Pero… ang mga hindi namin maipakita sa free TV, ‘yun ‘yung mapapanood nila sa iWant.“
Gandang Gabi Vice will add to the growing list of collaborations between the erstwhile rivals ABS-CBN and GMA, which began with Unbreak My Heart in 2023. It was later followed by It’s Showtime, Pinoy Big Brother, The Secrets of Hotel 88, and soon, Honor Thy Mother on Prime Video.
The media giants also collaborated for the films Hello, Love, Again and Love You So Bad.
The latest season of Gandang Gabi Vice will also, for the first time, go back-to-back with its former competition and top-rating Sunday newsmagazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho in the Sunday Grandé sa Gabi lineup of the network.
Gandang Gabi Vice will air every Sunday night starting September 13 at 10:00 pm on GMA. Uncut version of episodes will stream on iWant.
