PH bet Asia Rose Simpson finishes in Top 12 at Miss World 2026

The second crown of the country in the pageant still remains elusive.

The second crown of the country in the pageant still remains elusive.

On Saturday, September 5, the 75th edition of the Miss World pageant took place in Nha Trang, Vietnam and featured over a hundred delegates from all over the globe.

Competing for the Philippines in the said edition was national titledholder Asia Rose Simpson, who has shown her personality, grace, and grit in other challenges that happened in the lead up to the grand coronation event.

The 18-year-old won as the Asia and Oceania winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge, which earned her a spot in the Top 40. She would later be hailed as the overall winner and pushed her well into the Top 20.

Asia was also in the Top 3 of the Talent competition and Top 24 in Sports.

In the grand finals, Asia appeared wearing a lotus flower-inspired gown created by Ryan Ablaza Uson.

On the night of the crown, the lotus will bloom. Like the lotus that rises from the waters and unfolds its petals with grace, Asia Rose Simpson will bloom in the moment she was meant to shine – radiant, graceful, and unapologetically herself.

According to the Miss World Philippines Organization, it reflects the “timeless symbol of beauty, purity, resilience, and grace in Vietnam,” noting that it is also a reflection of Asia Rose as a “woman whose beauty is not only seen, but felt.”

However, despite her strong performance, Lê Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc from the host country Vietnam would be picked as the representative from the Asia and Oceania region and enter the Top 6. This meant that the Filipina would end her journey in Top 12.

Eventually, the crown went to Dominican Republic’a Joheirry Mola, while Elisabeth Reynés of Spain was named first runner-up and Taanusiya Chetty from Spain hailed as second runner-up.

Prior to being hailed as Miss World Philippines last January, Asia has been making her way to the top of the pageantry world.

She also previously competed in the Miss Teen USA 2023 and represented New Mexico in that edition.

It was back in 2013 when actress Megan Young won the first Miss World crown, becoming the only winner from the country to date.
