In a disclosure, property giant Megaworld announced that former Department of Finance Secretary Carlos “Sonny” Dominguez has joined its Board of Directors.
Dominguez brings more than four decades of experience across the public and private sectors, has been named Lead Independent Director.
He previously served as Secretary of Finance from 2016 to 2022 under the administration of ex-President Rodrugo Duterte, although prior to that, he also helmed the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
He then held leadership positions in various industries such as banking, power, aviation, agriculture, mining, hospitality, real estate, and investments.
Dominguez served as Chairman and President of Philippine Airlines, on top of leadership roles in the Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation, BPI Agricultural Development Bank, and RCBC Capital Corporation, among others.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Management from Ateneo de Manila University, and attended the Executive Management Program at Stanford University.
