Once again claiming supremacy on the international stage.
On Sunday, August 30 (local time), Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena competed at the ISTAF Berlin competition that was held at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany.
There, the two-time Olympian skipped earlier rounds before proceeding to the 5.62-meter bar that he cleared after two attempts.
He also moved to skip another one, before clearing the 5.82-meter height. EJ went on to try the 5.97-meter bar, but was unable to do it in three attempts.
Nonetheless, it was a successful campaign for the Filipino athlete, as he was able to clinch the gold medal in the competition, with Belgian pole vaulter Ylio Philtjens and Frenchman Robin Emig getting the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
This is yet another gold for Obiena, who also took home the same at the Golden Sand meet in Poland and the Stabhochsprung Meeting in Jockgrim, Germany earlier this August.
He also took another gold from the Halberstadter Hohenflug competition in Germany.
These followed his prior medals he garnered from Czeslaw Cybulski Memorial in Poland Cottbus, Germany (which he shared with Menno Vloon), the Asian Indoor Championships in Tianjin, China, the ISTAF Indoor contest in Berlin, Germany.
Meanwhile, EJ also previously earned a spot in the upcoming World Championship in 2027 after clearing the 5.90-meter bar at the recent the Diamond League Weltklasse Zurich in Switzerland.
