A new trio from the iconic K-pop female group has been born.
On Monday, August 31, Girls’ Generation-HRS, the new sub-unit of Girls’ Generation, was officially launched by members Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung.
On the same day, they dropped their debut single entitled Skibidi, alongside a performance video, which runs for three minutes and 11 seconds, featuring the three.
As of this writing, the video has already crossed the 800,000 views mark.
Meanwhile, serving as the release’s B-side is the track entitled Lowkey In Love.
The said unit was formed after Hyoyeon’s appearance in the variety show Dolsing Fourmen, where she disclosed her plans to form HyoriSoo to “rival” TTS, the other Girls’ Generation unit composed of Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun.
She jokingly said, as translated by allkpop, “When we said we were forming HyoriSoo, Taeyeon just stayed quiet. That made it even more upsetting.”
After which, the three have been frequently seen together, including an appearance in Yoo Jaesuk’s talk show Yoo Quiz On The Block last April.
Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung, together with the rest of Girls’ Generation, made their debut back in 2007 with their debut track Into The New World.
Over the years, they were able to cement their stature as one of the leading faces of K-pop with a a bunch of hit tracks such as Gee, Genie, The Boys, I Gotta Boy, Mr. Mr., Lion Heart, and Holiday, among others.
