On Sunday, August 30, the first-ever Eurovision Asia Philippine Selection Night happened at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
Hosted by Vice Ganda, Darren, and Alexa Ilacad, 10 original songs went head-to-head to become the country’s first representative to the Eurovision Asia Song Contest, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2026.
By the end of the evening, Sobra-Sobra (Too Much), which was performed by Carmelle Collado, composed by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides, and produced by Olavides, emerged as the winning entry.
Second place is Broken Beyond Repair , which was performed by Saga, composed by Angelo Gonzales, and produced by Arnold Buena and Dan Cage.
Third place is Mapadama (Make You Feel) that was performed by JM Dela Cerna and Mariella Montellano; composed by Jungee Marcelo and Jeremy G; and produced by Kiko Salazar and Jeremy G.
Meanwhile, other seven entries in the inaugural Philippine Selection Night are the following
- Between Bituin (Between Stars) – performed by DNA, composed by Jungee Marcelo, and produced by Marcelo and Thyro Alfaro.
- Cheri(e) – performed by Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, Lance Reblando, and Nar Cabico; composed by Nar Cabico; and produced by Kiko Salazar.
- Di Yan (Red Flag) – performed by Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag; composed by Jason Marvin; and produced by Fern.
- Good For You – performed by Ryssi Avila; composed by Hazel Faith; and produced by Brian Cua.
- Make It Exist – performed by AJAA, composed by Angelo Calucin, and produced by Gabriel Tagadtad.
- Reason To Live – performed by Khimo, composed by Stephen Tan, and produced by Raizo Chabeldin
- Round N’ Round – performed by VVINK and Wrive; composed by Julius James de Belen, James Michael Conchada; and produced by Bojam
The scoring breakdown was as follows: 40% from judges and jury, 40% from local voting, and 20% from the rest of the world.
The Eurovision Asia Philippine Selection Night aired over ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant, and TFC, with a delayed telecast on Myx.
The inaugural Asian edition of the long-running international television music competition, organized by the European Broadcasting Union, is co-produced with Voxovation together with S2O Productions and Thailand’s Channel 3.
The Eurovision Asia Song Contest 2026 will be aired in different countries in the region, with the aim of reaching more than 600 million people, on November 14, with the regional finals taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.
Other confirmed participating broadcasters are PK, Inc. (South Korea), Media Prima’s TV3 (Malaysia), VTV3 (Vietnam), VTE9 (Laos), NTV (Bangladesh), BBS (Bhutan), and Himalaya TV (Nepal), with each country also holding their own national finals in the coming weeks.
