It is part of the landmark celebration ahead of the league’s campaign that will start this October.

On Wednesday, August 26, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) launched a special logo to mark its 10th anniversary in 2027.

According to the Philippines’ first professional volleyball league, this logo “represents a league that has evolved from its beginnings into the country’s premier professional volleyball competition and, in the process, helped fuel the sport’s remarkable rise in popularity.”

The PVL was first launched in 2004 as the inter-collegiate Shakey’s V-League, before eventually becoming the professional league that it is to this day.

It also described that the silver element “symbolizes the strength and stability the PVL has developed throughout its decade-long journey,” while the blue color “reinforces the PVL’s identity and unity while expressing its continuing drive to move Philippine volleyball forward.

Together, the PVL shared, the design was built around three defining ideas, which are “strength, depth and stability.”

The said logo will be formally be used starting this October 10, coinciding with the start of the league’s 10th season celebration that will “serve as both a tribute to the PVL’s journey and a launchpad for its next chapter.”

The PVL also disclosed in a statement that its organizer, Sports Vision, is already “deep into preparations” to ensure that the milestone season will reflect the occasion’s significance.

Currently, the PVL has nine active teams playing, which are, in alphabetical order: Akari Chargers, Capital1 Solar Spikers, Choco Mucho Flying Tutans, Creamline Cool Smashers, Farm Fresh Foxies, Galeries Tower Highrisers, Nxled Chameleons, PLDT High Speed Hitters, and Zus Coffee Thunderbelles.

Meanwhile, Sports Vision also organizes other leagues apart from the PVL such as the men’s professional counterpart Spikers’ Turf and the co-ed V-League collegiate tournament.
