In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26 (Manila time), the family of music icon Dolly Parton delivered the news about her passing at the age of 80.
Bryan Seaver, who represented his aunt, disclosed the news in a somber video uploaded on the Queen of Country Music‘s social media pages. There, he noted that he was asked to do the announcement years ago, but it did not fully sink into him as a “future reality.”
The relative, who also served as her head of security, told that Dolly had lived a life and is someone who opened doors to singers, musicians, and dreamers from all walks of life across different generations over the span of seven decades.
The team also vowed to do their work of keeping her legacy alive.
Meanwhile, in separate post, the family and team noted that at Dolly’s request, only a “small, private service will be held for immediate family.”
They, however, encouraged Dolly’s fans and friends from around the world to pay tribute to Dolly on social media by tagging her official account or by leaving a message at her website.
Moreover, instead of flowers, the family also asked for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
