By then, the network will consolidate its operations to the adjacent buildings within the current compound.
At the ABS-CBN Annual Stockholders’s Meeting on August 19, the company’s head of real estate and development Grant Orbeta gave shareholders an update regarding the status of the sold parcel to Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI).
The said parcel covers at least 30,000 square meters of the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City, where the Broadcasting Centre and Millennium Transmitter are both situated.
“After turnover of the sold parcel to Ayala Land by mid-2027, all operating units based in Quezon City will hold office in the Eugenio Lopez Communications Center and the Gina Lopez Building,” the company officer disclosed.
While there is no exact timeline just yet, ABS-CBN has permanently closed last August 16 its gate along Sgt. Esguerra Avenue ahead of the dismantling of the famed transmitter, which served as the key landmark in the area for decades.
It was back in February 2025 when ALI acquired the land for PHP6.24 billion, with the turnover of the space initially expected to be completed by December 2026.
However, progress has largely been slow since, with Ayala bosses confirming earlier in the year that they still have no concrete plans in the foreseeable future regarding the acquired property.
At present, most ABS-CBN programs being produced inside the Broadcasting Centre will continue to emanate until mid-2027, with some shows set to gradually transition to the studios inside or attached to the ELJ Communications Center in the coming months.
