It will be a “gandang gabi” not only for Kapamilya viewers, but also for Kapuso watchers.
During ABS-CBN Corporation’s Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on Wednesday, August 19, some major programming announcements were made by Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes.
One of the biggest news that the executive dropped was the confirmation of the upcoming comeback of one of the network’s longest-running and most-beloved talk shows, Gandang Gabi Vice—which is hosted by one of its most-prized talents, Vice Ganda.
Last aired just right before the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, the show will make its comeback this September on ABS-CBN platforms and, for the first time ever, GMA Network.
“‘Gandang Gabi Vice,’ the new season, will come back next month on GMA, iWant, and Kapamilya Channel,” said Vidanes.
She did not yet reveal the exect date and other details regarding the much-anticipated return of the program that first aired in 2011 and immediately became one of the network’s top-rating shows on Sunday nights throughout its almost nine-year run.
However, Vice has taken to social media to further drum up the excitement and greeted: “Gandang Gabi Kapamilya at Kapuso!!!!” with the hashtag “GGV” at the end of the sentence.
The program’s official account on X was also reactivated, with it posting “pack up! 📸🤭”, hinting at a possible photoshoot done for the its impending return.
Prior to Vidanes’ confirmation, Vice previously disclosed after renewing her contract with ABS-CBN that she is slated to do a project on GMA, which will be produced by the Kapamilya network.
“Next month, nakalinyang bagong project (para) sa akin sa GMA at marami pang mga susunod…” revealed the Asia’s Unkabogable Superstar.
The It’s Showtime host also personally confirmed the imminent return of GGV during an engagement at the University of Santo Tomas last January.
Currently, Vice is juggling her position as the main host of the abovementioned noontime variety program, which also airs on GMA, as well as the weekend game show Everybody, Sing, which will soon conclude its limited one season run.
Beyond TV, she is also set to star in a powerhouse collaboration with Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto for the upcoming comedy movie The Greatest Showdown, which is one of the four confirmed entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival in December 2026.
As for ABS-CBN and GMA, Gandang Gabi Vice will add to the growing list of collaborations between the erstwhile rivals that began with Unbreak My Heart in 2023 and was soon followed by It’s Showtime, Pinoy Big Brother, The Secrets of Hotel 88, and soon, Honor Thy Mother on Prime Video.
The media giants also collaborated for the films Hello, Love, Again and Love You So Bad.
