With that kicking into effect on its streaming app a few weeks earlier.

In an announcement made by multimedia platform Cignal, it advised subscribers that five  channels of HBO Asia, which is a network under Warner Bros. Discovery, will cease broadcasting on its satellite pay TV service beginning September 1, 2026 at 12:00 mn.

These channels are HBO, Cinemax, HBO Family, HBO Signature, and HBO Hits, which are also confirmed to be ending their runs on the Cignal Play streaming app from next Sunday, August 16.

Despite this development, subscribers still have a number of entertainment options, with the new channel Studio Universal set to be added to the pay TV platform, together with sports networks BeIn Sports 1, 2 and 3.

The discontinuation of its carriage marks a significant change to both media companies.

Foremost, HBO is effectively ending the broadcast over the biggest pay television provider in the Philippines, with Cignal having reported north of four million subscribers.

Meanwhile, for Cignal, this is also the latest major change in its channel line-up. In the past few months, several of its original channels ceased operations, with list including the Sari-Sari Channel, WilTV, BuKo, and in the coming days, True TV.
