It marks the return of three of the country’s most-bankable artists.
On Friday, July 24, the new series Someone, Someday starring Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo, Multimedia Powerhouse James Reid, and Her Majasty Maja Salvador, has finally made its premiere via the streaming giant Netflix.
Produced by ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape Entertainment, the story is touted as “modern, feel-good, and progressive.”
The main character of the show is Billy (Kathryn), a young CEO who defines her purpose of being able to tend for her family, leading the company, and helping other women through her app.
Her friendship with her best friend Jordan (James), meanwhile, will deepen as she leans on him for support, especially when Abby (Maja) enters her life with a hidden agenda.
Under the direction of Chad V. Vidanes and Dolly Dulu, also part of the cast of Someone, Someday are Dimples Romana, Rowell Santiago, Rita Avila, McCoy De Leon, Daniela Stranner, and child actor Migz Casimiro.
It is the first primetime series of James in over 9 years following Till I Met You in 2017, while it is the first full-length drama of Maja since The Killer Bride in 2019 and her next series a short stint in The Iron Heart in 2022. As for Kathryn, it is her first since 2 Good 2 Be True, which also aired 2022.
With its premiere on Netflix, it grows the growing slate of ABS-CBN series and Filipino content, in general, to premiere first on the said streaming platform.
The practice of dropping advanced episode started with 2 Good 2 Be True, which was then followed by Can’t Buy Me Love, and most recently, Blood Vs. Duty.
Currently, productions from other networks are also doing the same method, with TV5’s A Secret In Prague and GMA’s The Master Cutter also releasing episodes before their respective TV airings.
Back to Someone, Someday, it will then drop advanced episodes on iWant on Saturday, June 25.
Starting July 27, it will air at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube, as well as on TFC for viewers abroad.
