More than a week after its series premiere on streaming giant Prime Video, the ABS-CBN Studios and Star Creatives-produced suspense-thriller The Loyalty Game has achieved a record.
The series, which stars real-life couple Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez, led the list of most-watched content on Prime Video Philippines from Saturday, July 11 until Tuesday, July 14.
Abroad, it also ranked among the most watched shows on Prime Video in the United Arab Emirates, where it has remained in the Top 10 since July 11.
The series delivers multiple twists and turns in its story, with audiences following the relationship between Ana (Janine Gutierrez) and her husband Ben (Jericho Rosales).
She will hire the service of another woman, Diane (portrayed by Yen Santos) to test the loyalty of her husband, Ben (Jericho), and check whether he is cheating on her.
It will then lead to Diane recruit her peers, called The Loyalty Testers, to fulfill her contract with Ana. But it will take a dark turn as a different side of Ben is shown.
In the latest episodes, Ana (Janine) stopped Beth (Sofia) from conducting another loyalty test on her husband, as she believes that he could not be cheating on her despite his mysterious actions.
However, it will take a shocking turn with the death of Antonio (Bernard Palanca). While suspicion initially fell on Ben and Beth, it was later revealed that Nathalie was behind the murder.
The incident also worked in Ben’s favor after Antonio uncovered his secret meetings with Mara (Yassi Pressman).
But Ben’s darker side is unleashed after he killed Antonio’s private investigator, leaving them wondering what he is truly hiding and if he has remained loyal to Ana.
Janine Gutierrez shared that portraying Ana allowed her to discover the different sides of her character. “Throughout the script, nare-reveal sa akin yung important things about her. Grateful talaga ako kay Direk Mae because she really helped me find Ana,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jericho Rosales described Ben as one of the most challenging characters he has portrayed. “The character scared me. I think gray characters are the most interesting characters to play.”
Aside from the those mentioned, also part of this series are Carmina Villaroel, Charlie Dizon, Kira Balinger, Elisse Joson, Jennica Garcia, and Maika Rivera.
The series is the latest collaboration between ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video, which previously teamed up for the Cattleya Killer, Linlang, Saving Grace, The Alibi, and most recently, The Silent Noise, among others.
