It is slated to open this weekend with a massive concert led by no less than the Nation’s Girl Group.
On Thursday, July 9, SM Prime has formally introduced its new SM Seaside Cebu Arena, which is located inside the group’s South Road Properties (SRP) estate.
The said venue was designed by the award-winning global architecture firm Arquitectonica and is worth more than PHP7 billion. It spans more than seven hectares of gross floor area and can accommodate up to 25,000 spectators.
As for its exterior, the company said it adopts a signature façade — a similar move done by its sister venue, the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City — by implementing its wave shaped glass windows.
At the center of SM Seaside Cebu Arena is Cebu’s largest and most advanced center-hung display.
Furthermore, the arena also has 30 luxury Premier Suites located just above the VIP sections that can accommodate up to 13-31 guests.
The said suites include upscale seating, private restrooms and unobstructed views of the event floor, with suiteholders and their guests also getting access to dedicated VIP lounges, a café and an exclusive entrance.
There will be a practice court is available for performers and multi-functional event spaces that can be used as holding areas, breakout rooms or venues for smaller private events.
For convenience, the SM Seaside Cebu Arena also has a direct access to the SM Seaside City Cebu and the upcoming SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, ad well as the Park Inn by Radisson, and Radisson Hotel.
“This arena is part of our long-term vision for Cebu,” emphasized Jeffrey Lim, President of SM Prime. “By creating a world-class platform for live entertainment and large-scale gatherings within SRP, we give local and foreign tourists another reason to visit and stay longer.”
He also noted that the arena will “generate economic opportunities” for local entrepreneurs and nearby communities.
“Cebu has long been one of the country’s most dynamic markets. With this arena, we can bring more Filipino and international acts to the Visayas and strengthen the region’s place in the live entertainment circuit,” the company chief added.
SM Seaside Cebu Arena is set to open with the BINI Signals World Tour on Saturday, July 11. Other upcoming shows include more local acts in IV of Spades and TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan, as well as foreign acts like the Hillsong Worship and LANY.
It has also been named as host venue of the FIBA Asia Women’s Cup 2027, which will take place in July 2027.
