She is the fifth Filipino personality to be immortalized by the said museum.

On Thursday, July 9, a special unveiling took place at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City for the official wax figure of Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

The launch saw her lucky fans get a rare opportunity of not just meeting her in the flesh, but also meet her “doppelganger,” whom she endearingly called as her “Kath-twin.”

The grand unveiling also brought together Kathryn’s family, close friends from the entertainment industry, media partners, excited fans from the Philippines, and supporters who even flew in from around the globe, as the first ones to witness the much-anticipated reveal.

This feat made Kathryn Bernardo the fifth Filipino to join the popular attraction, which is an interactive destination where global talent is recognized and celebrated.

She joins the esteemed roster of other world-class Filipino talents in the museum, which includes beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao, and award-winning actress and host Anne Curtis.

“We recognize true Filipino talent that shines through different industries and categories! From pageants, sports, TV, and even film. We can attest to the fact that Filipino talents and their supporters really are something else, so we do our best to continue growing this relationship and reach more Filipino audiences in our attraction,” Gateway Hong Kong, Merlin Entertainments General Manager Wade Chang shared during the launch event.

Kathryn’s long list of accolades and her expansive resume that includes no less than the top 1 and 3 highest grossing local films of all-time, on top of her strong fanbase, became some of the clear reason behind her inclusion.

The actress began her career as a child star in 2003, and over the past two decades, she has built an unrivaled career in film and television.

Her blockbuster films The Hows of Us, A Very Good Girl,” and Hello, Love, Goodbye, which was a film set in Hong Kong — the same city where her newest wax replica will be displayed — are entries in her filmography.

Her performances have also earned critical acclaim, including the Best Actress award at the 72 FAMAS Awards in 2024.

Beyond acting, she is the face of countless local and international brands trusted and loved by Filipino households.

“My wax figure is a reminder that big dreams are valid, and Filipino talent belongs on the global stage. At the end of the day, I’m just so proud to be here as a Filipina, and I hope it makes everyone feel the same about who we are and what we can do,” shared Kathryn Bernardo on what this achievement means for her and for her Filipino supporters.

The wax figure recreates Kathryn’s look from the 2023 Outstanding Asian Star Awards in Seoul, capturing the moment she received the honour.

“Every intricate detail of her wax clone was precisely replicated by Madame Tussauds’ team of expert artists and sculptors to show Kathryn’s natural beauty, elegance, and charm,” noted Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

Her “Kath-twin” is also dressed in the original gown designed by Filipino Designer Martin Bautista, the same ensemble Kathryn wore during the prestigious awards ceremony.

“This milestone was chosen as the inspiration for Kathryn’s wax likeness, commemorating one of her defining moments as she represented the Philippines on an international stage,” they noted.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong furthered, “It is an ode to her growing international recognition and the pride she continues to bring to Filipino audiences, making it a fitting tribute as she claims the platform set for her by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.“

Following the launch, the venue was then opened to the public, giving visitors the chance to admire the figure up close before it makes its permanent home at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

After Thursday, the wax figure will be officially launched on July 17 at the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong museum, where she will join not just fellow Filipino celebrities, but also personalities from all over the world.

“Fans can take photos, interact, and create memorable moments with Asia’s Superstar, now closer than ever before,” added the museum.

Visitors can easily explore immersive themed zones, including the Hong Kong Glamour Zone, Fashion Zone, Music Icon, K-Wave Zone, and more, posing and interacting alongside the wax likeness of award-winning celebrities, cultural icons, and legendary personalities for a truly star-studded experience.
