The radio station has once again reorganized its programming grid.
On Monday, July 6, Nation Broadcasting Corporation’s 105.9 True FM unveiled its new programming slate, which has been fortified with audio simulcasts from sister news platforms within the MediaQuest group.
First to go due to this programming shake-up is Dr. Love of Bro. Jun Banaag, which was cancelled due to the health condition of the seasoned radio anchor who took the airwaves for the past 62 years.
Other programs that were axed were Balita Alas-Tres with Rigie Macalinao, and LSS: Love Stories and Songs of DJ Maki Rena — although, they both remain with True FM through other programs.
Kicking off the broadcast day is the all-music block between 3:00 and 4:00 am, which precedes Good Morning, Bayan with Ruth Cabal and Rigie Macalinao.
After which, Ted Failon and DJ Chacha remain on their morning primetime shift from 6:00 to 10:00 am.
Although, Perfect Mornings with Cheryl Cosim from One PH has been added as a simulcast, cutting Sana Lourd with Lourd De Veyra to an hour-long format from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Cosim returns at 12:00 noon for One Balita Pilipinas, the flagship Kapatid midday newscast that is making a comeback to radio four years after it ended its run on then-Radyo5 92.3 News FM. The show is also simulcast on One PH, One News, and True TV.
1:00 pm on True FM is still occupied by Cristy FerMinute, which has a repeat at 11:00 pm on True TV. Wanted Sa Radyo is also continuing to air for two hours from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Meanwhile, replacing LSS is the One News afternoon chat and news program Story Con with Ed Lingao, Regina Lay, and Amy Pamintuan, and it airs from 4:00 to 5:30 pm on both platforms.
TV5’s Una Sa Lahat and Frontline Pilipinas take the airwaves from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
As for Maki Rena, she now joins DJ Arnold (Kuya Poy) in Heart2Heart, which moves to primetime effective on the said date and now airs every weeknight from 8:00 to 9:30 pm.
Tony Toni and Laboching also remain on the evening block, with their program True Confessions airing from 9:30 to 11:00 pm.
The day caps off on True FM with the same-day replay of Sa Totoo Lang, hosted by Jove Francisco, Maricel Halili, and Chiqui Vergel, which continues to air at 6:00 pm on One News and 9:30 pm on One PH.
