With people still tuning every “Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.“
In a report by The Korea Herald, it was announced that Korean pop superstar Jeon Jungkook, a member of the mega boy band BTS, has achieved a new feat.
This, as the 29-year-old singer makes history on music streaming platform Spotify as he becomes the first Asian artist to amass more 3 billion streams for his single Seven, which features American rapper Latto.
At present, the song is also in the 64th spot on Spotify’s all-time most-streamed songs chart, while it has spent a 153-week run on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart — the longest-charting solo release by an Asian artist on the platform in history.
Seven, which dropped in July 2023, instantly became a worldwide hit and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, where it charted for 15 weeks, and went to the top of both the Global 200 and Global Excluding U.S. charts of the same publication for seven consecutive weeks.
As if those records are not yet enough, Jungkook also has four Guinness World Records, which include the title for having the most-streamed track by a male artist on Spotify in a single week with a total of 89,748,171 streams.
The music video for the song is also a certified multi-million hit, with 619 million views on YouTube as of this writing.
For Filipino ARMY, they will get to meet Jungkook, together with the rest of BTS, when they perform at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan on March 13, 14 and 16, 2027 for the three-night stop in the country of their Arirang World Tour.
