Nearly two months after his departure from the band and its parent agency.

In a post on his Instagram on Thursday, June 4, K-pop star Mark Lee, a former member of the mega boy band NCT, delighted his fans with a new update.

The 26-year-old revealed the establishment of his own label, which he called the Upper Room.

In the post, he wrote its mission, which read: “Songs for the future, Cities of visions, and a room to start.”

This is his first major venture after leaving both NCT and its parent label, SM Entertainment, after the his 10-year contract with the company expired last April 8.

Since then, he was sighted at the Coachella Music Festival in California and inside a recording studio.

Mark was among the first members of NCT to be introduced in April 2016, eventually becoming part of the permanent sub-unit NCT 127 and NCT Dream, which was then a unit with a “graduation system.”

Eventually, he “graduated” from Dream in 2019, but was brought back the following year as the team became another fixed unit.

Outside of NCT, Lee also dabbled into his solo projects, collaborations with other artists, and the project group SuperM.
