The couple, who are both certified K-pop fans, flew all the way to where the much-anticipated event will take place.
In a series of posts on Instagram, celebrity couple and Kapuso stars Mikael Daez and Megan Young shared updates to their followers on the platform. Specifically, they uploaded proofs of how their dreams as fans of the Koream pop group BTS came true.
The two, as well as their firstborn child, Leon, flew all the way to Seoul, South Korea to witness the major comeback show mounted by the seven-member team composed of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook at the historic Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday, March 21.
In their first post, which Megan posted on Thursday, she expressed her excitement for her “trip of a lifetime” and conveyed in her caption, “I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I AM GONNA WATCH BTS 😭 syempre all caps para intense 😁 but seriously, I am over the moon to just be in Seoul with my family and then I get to watch OT7 live for the first time ever… during their comeback pa?!?? Nasagot mga prayers ko 😅 Excited to share more about this trip!!!”
In another post, Mikael shared how this opportunity to watch the team live is the “moment” of his wife.
“This is my wife’s moment!! She is finally going to watch BTS LIVE AND IN PERSON! For all the partners out there, I would equate this moment to watching an olympic gold medal basketball game, the 7th game of the NBA championship or watching MJ in his prime!!”
He continued, “So Boneezy only has one job to do and that is to take it all in while Leon and I just need to make sure we get out of the way 🤣🤣🤣 and of course take many photos and videos of mama crying her army heart out 😍 Lezzgooooo!!!”
In his reel on Saturday, Mikael also shared how he caught “Boneezy” off guard one more time before they marched onto the concert grounds. “Woot woot!! Sobrang excited na ng mga tao! It’s BTS everywhere you look and it’s the only thing you hear too. Also sharing our concert outfits! We got lucky and picked up the merch early in the day,” he added.
On Friday, March 20, BTS dropped Arirang, which marked their first album in over three years, following the anthology album Proof in 2022. The group subsequently went on hiatus as members entered the mandatory military service of South Korea.
In a prior statement, however, BTS’ parent label BigHit Music disclosed that leader RM’s participation in the comeback show will be limited following an injury.
For those who are unable to catch the team’s free show in Seoul, they will also be making their return to multiple places around the world as they are set to stage the album’s namesake tour, Arirang, starting this year.
Included as stops for that concert tour is Manila, Philippines, where they are scheduled to return to in March 2027 for a two-night show at the Mall of Asia Arena.
