Amid the continued uncertainty due to the escalating tensions in the region.
In their respective advisories, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) and budget airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced the list of flights that have been canceled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
PHILIPPINE AIRLINES
For Philippine Airlines, it said that flight PR 685, which flies Doha to Manila, and PR 684, which is the outbound Manila-Doha, will not push through on March 12, 13, 14 15, and 16. The PR 685 flight scheduled for March 17 has also been canceled.
Meanwhile, PR 654/655, the Manila-Riyadh-Manila service, and PR 658/658, Manila-Dubai-Manila, will not operate on March 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.
Affected passengers are told that they may avail the rebooking or refund options in accordance with PAL policies and to proceed to the PAL Flight Help Page on its website or contact PAL Customer Support for more information.
“Passengers are also advised to check on their flight status and the latest flight advisories via the PAL website, mobile app or official social media channels before proceeding to the airport,” added the flag carrier.
Moreover, “PAL reiterates that safety remains our highest priority and appreciates the understanding of our passengers.”
CEBU PACIFIC
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific, in its statement, said that it “continues to assess its flight operations to and from the Middle East amid the ongoing security situation in the region. As this remains a developing situation, further schedule adjustments may take place.“
Hence, to zensure the safety and well-being” of its passengers and crew, CEB has cancelled additional flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh.
5J 14/15, which serve Manila – Dubai – Manila, will not fly on March 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Meanwhile, 5J 18/19 flights scheduled for March 13 and 16, which operate the same route, have also been canceled.
The 5J 740, which connects Manila and Riyadh, and its return service 5J 741 will not be operating on March 13 and 14, respectively.
In light of the ongoing conflict, Cebu Pacific said that it is also now providing flexible options, including free rebooking and Travel Fund conversion, to passengers who wish to postpone their flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh scheduled until March 31, 2026.
“They may avail themselves of these options through the Manage Booking portal of the CEB website up to two (2) hours before their scheduled time of departure,” the airline noted.
Furthermore, passengers are also encouraged to check their flight status on the website and ensure their contact details are updated to receive timely notifications, and to monitor updates through CEB’s official social media accounts.
