They are also first two acts from the country to do so.
On Thursday, March 12, Weverse officially announced the two music acts that will set up their official channels on the site.
These are Filipino pop groups SB19 and BINI, who are also making history as the first pair from the Philippines that are becoming part of the global fandom platform.
In the video shared by the South Korea-based platform, SB19 members Josh, Stell, Pablo, Ken, and Justin introduced themselves to users.
“We are five-member group from the Philippines,” said Pablo.
Ken and Justin followed that up by saying, “If this is your first time hearing about us or if you are part of our beloved community A’TIN, we have an exciting news for you.”
“We are finally on Weverse!” exclaimed the members, with Stell reminding them to visit and join their official page, which will open on March 19 at 11:00 am (Manila time) / 12:00 noon (Seoul time).
“We can’t wait to connect with all of you there,” said Josh, which was followed by the entire team saying “See you on Weverse!“
Meanwhile, all eight members of BINI also invited their fans through a separate video.
Leader Jhoanna stated, “We are very thrilled and excited to officially join Weverse! BINI’s Weverse community is opening on March 16.”
Together with the rest of the team—namely Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena—the team ended the short video by saying, “See you on Weverse, Blooms! Save the date!“
Weverse was developed by Hybe Corporation in 2019 as platform for artists to interact with fans through various mechanisms, such as in-app messaging, live streaming, and with fellow supporters through a community wall.
Initially an exclusive platform only to Korean music acts from labels under Hybe, it was expanded to other companies. That was further strengthened by Weverse’s merger with another fan-connection platform, V Live, which was completed in 2023.
