On Thursday, March 5, Kapuso actor-model Gil Cuerva issued a public statement amid the circulation of a leaked video online that involves him.
In the said scandal, Cuerva and three other personalities, who have their respective clips put on social media, were dubbed by netizens as the “Big Four.”
The 30-year-old wrote in his official statement, “Hey everyone. I just want to briefly address the issue that had circulated online over the past few days. This will be the only time I speak about it, and I will not be commenting any further after this.”
“The video being shared online was recorded without my knowledge or consent during a private moment,” said Gil. “The use of a hidden camera and the distribution of that recording are serious violations of my privacy and constitute a crime.“
He then thanked his friends and family who have reached out to him at this time, as well as the people who have spoke up to defend his name.
“That’s all that really needs to be said. I’m okay, I’m fine, and life goes on,” he ended his statement.
In a separate post on Threads, the Kapuso star also acknowledged the posts made by his ex-girlfriend Lexi Gonzales, who in recent days, have come to his defense on social media.
“[…]we’re both very much okay,” Cuerva wrote. He also said that the leaked video was not the reason behind their break-up last year.
He added, “I appreciate the gesture, especially after everything. 🤝❤️“
Gil started out as a ramp and fashion model before joining the showbusiness industry in 2017, when he landed the lead role of Matteo Domingo in the Philippine adaptation of My Love From The Star.
Since then, he has been part of numerous projects in GMA Network, such as Beautiful Justice, Love You Stranger, Underage, and most-recently, Slay.
