In its statement on Thursday, February 26, SM Prime reported that its mall operations unit,
SM Supermalls, welcomed an average of 115 million visits a month across its nationwide network in 2025.

The group disclosed that the its total visits reached 1.4 billion for the entire year, with its busiest month being the peak holiday season in December.

During the Christmas month, its network saw 153 million visits, with daily visits averaging 5.5 million on weekends and 4.6 million on weekdays.

SM Supermalls President Steven Tan reflected on the company’s achievement and said, “As we marked our 40th anniversary last year, we reflected not only on what we have achieved, but on what the next four decades must become. With our customer as our North Star, we are evolving all for them, transforming their most-loved SM Supermalls not just to respond to needs, but to proactively anticipate them.”

The company cited that the malls’ foot traffic was supported by attractions in its properties, which are then complemented by the “dynamic tenant mix strategy” and experiences, which include those that are “first-in-market” and “first-in-SM.”

Some of the events that further drove the numbers include the return of the annual Pyro-Musical Competition, Cyberzone gaming tournaments, IP-based activations based on anime series Pokémon and One Piece, as well as the Grand Magical Christmas Parade.

SM also cited the likes of Active Hub that features pickleball courts and running hubs, SM Cares initiatives for coastal cleanups and youth summits, the expansion of Book Nook reading spaces, purpose-led sustainability initiatives, and curated community events.

In 2025, SM Supermalls opened MOA Sky and ScreenX, both the first of their kind in the Philippines. They also brought in numerous brands to the Philippine market that same year.

On top of these, SM Supermalls launched a roadmap to deliver one flagship mall every year until 2030 alongside large-scale redevelopment initiatives across SM’s network of 89 malls.

In 2026, four malls are confirmed to open four new branches in General Trias, Cavite; Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Davao del Norte; and Zamboanga City.

“This year, we are bringing in new concepts that reflect how customers live, so every SM mall continues to feel personal, meaningful, and worth returning to,” added Tan.
