Its story will follow a couple whose ten-year relationship swings between extremes.
On Monday, February 23, streaming platform Netflix announced that it has greenlit the new romantic-comedy film that has the working title of Messily Ever After.
Set to be reunited in this project are the stars of the series Pachinko, Kim Min-ha and Noh Sang-hyun, who will respectively portray the characters Su-hyun and Hyun-tae,
According to the storyline shared by the platform, their characters will first meet on an art school campus and fall in love at first sight. In their tenth year of being together, the college sweethearts’ chemistry shifts into romcom territory as a couple who can read each other’s minds with just a look and love each other to death and equally hate each other just as much.
Diving deeper into their characters, Kim Min-ha’s Su-hyun, is a perfectionist curator “who keeps everything under control at work but finds herself losing her cool entirely when love and jealousy are involved.“
Meanwhile, Noh Sang-hyun portrays Hyun-tae, an installation artist and Su-hyun’s long-term partner. “Passionate about his craft and unafraid to stand his ground, Hyun-tae brings a different kind of intensity to their relationship.”
Directed by Seo Jung-min, Netflix says the rom-com draka is “expected to blend sharp, witty storytelling with a grounded look at modern relationships.”
The official release date has yet to be announced by Netflix.
