Despite that, these movies are still seen on pay TV.
Those tuned into ALLTV2 during the late evening hours on Monday, February 16, were stunned with an unannounced programming move by the station, which carries shows from ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel.
Right after the delayed telecast of ANC’s flagship English newscast The World Tonight, in previous weeks, free-to-air viewers would have been given the chance to watch the first of the triple-header Movie Central Presents, while the two other films remain exclusive on the cable feed.
In the original set-up, that meant ALLTV2 signing off in the wee hours, at around 2:00 am, the next day.
But as of this week, that practice had since been axed, with Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2 now moving to close down for the day right after the news program at around 11:15 pm.
At present, both ABS-CBN and ALLTV2 have not yet made any mentions about the latest programming move on their official pages, however, a post on the latter’s Facebook account painted the picture.
As of Monday, the promotion for the “movie marathon” on the channel is only limited to the Kapamilya Blockbuster morning flicks and the afternoon movie fix brought by Kapamilya Gold Hits.

The move to axe Movie Central Presents comes much less as a baffling move, as in recent years, local television networks in general have largely scaled down or used the post-primetime block for reruns and religious programming.
For example, another major station, GMA Network, decided back in 2023—amid dwindling late night viewership across the board—to shift Saksi from 10:50 to 10:20 pm, officially making it part of the Telebabad/Prime block.
Sacrificed in the process were the Asian dramas, which now form a full hour from 11:00 to 12:00 mn, although they are now rating much lower than their previous offerings that were placed in the 10:00 pm hour in the past.
Although, TV5 counteracted the shift in late 2025 after placing the late edition of its music program Vibe Nights at 11:30 pm following its late-evening newscast Frontline Tonight.
As of yet, there is also no information on whether ABS-CBN or ALLTV2 will eventually place another program to fill the vacated timeslot.
