PSC opens nomination for 5th Enshrinement of PH Sports Hall of Fame

Earlier this week, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) officially opened the table for the nominations for the the 5th Enshrinement of the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame (PSHOF).

The PSHOF, which institutionalized through Republic Act No. 8757, aims to recognize and enshrine outstanding Filipino athletes, coaches, and trainers who have brought great distinction and recognition to the country through their exceptional achievements in sports.

In line with that, teh agency noted that they are looking for “deserving sports icons who have shaped our nation’s sporting legacy all throughout the years.

All Filipino individuals and organizations are invited to nominate based on the criteria set by the commission.

For athletes, eligible to become nominees are amateur or professional including the Persons with Disabilities, or retired from active international competition.

They can be a gold medalist in any Southeast Asian Games or at least a silver Medalist in any Asian Games or Asian Cup or regional games or at least a bronze medalist in any Olympic or World Games: or a titleholder or World Champion in any professional or amateur sports competition.

Their athletic performance should have a wide, historic and unprecedented global impact and the candidates should have unquestionable integrity either local or abroad, before and after the event. They must also hold no conviction of a crime involving moral turpitude.

Furthermore, Philippine Olympic medalists automatically considered for inclusion in the nominations.

As for coaches or trainers, they can be mateur or professional, retired from active coaching or training of international competitors.

They should have coached or trained a gold medalist in any Southeast Asian Games at least a silver Medalist in any Asian Games or Asian Cup or regional games or at least a bronze medalist in any Olympic or World Games, or a titleholder or World Champion in any professional or amateur sports competition.

Likewise, candidates should have unquestionable integrity either local or abroad, before and after the event.

Inclusive years are from 1924 to 2014, added the PSC, with the nomination form available on its website.

Completed nominations may be submitted on or before March 15, 2026 via email at halloffame@psc.gov.ph, a letter undersigned by the PSC secretariat on the website read.
