They can choose from options depending on their need, capacity, or simply, preference.
According to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program is covering members of the working class, informal sectors, and informal settler families (ISFs) through various housing options.
For the ISFs, the DHSUD has tasked the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) to pursue the people-centric Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) and incremental housing (phase by phase) improvement of shelter units. That will then be dependent on the capacity of the ISF beneficiaries.
To date, the SHFC has approved at least 36 ECMP sites, to benefit around 15,000 individuals since the revival of the pro-people program last year.
Aliling, meanwhile, stated that rental housing under the Expanded 4PH for those who still cannot afford home ownership will be available.
The DHSUD has also revived the distribution of certificates of entitlement (COEs) to beneficiaries of various Presidential Proclamations, which it told has benefitted thousands of ISFs.
As for the working class, rental housing option is also available.
The Pag-IBIG Fund is said to be offering, as well, the lowest 3 percent interest rate for up to 10 years for members who apply for socialized housing, both horizontal and vertical projects, under the Expanded 4PH.
