She has revealed it for the first time.
In her appearance on the popular podcast series Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast with directors Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac, superstar Anne Curtis looked back on one of her, if not the, biggest issues in the past.
Specifically the incident at a bar back in 2013, which allegedly involved the actress-host—who was drunk at that time, her friends, and actor John Lloyd Cruz.
The line that came out from the issue is the now-iconic “I can buy you, your friends, and this club,” which was speculated to have been said by her during a spat.
Recalling that she spoke to her friends about it later on, “Sinabi ko ba talaga yun? So that I can own up to it kung sinabi [ko].“
In response, “Sabi ng mga friends ko, ‘No, you didn’t say it.‘”
“Sabi ko, ha? All this time? But you know what, it’s so iconic now [that] I’m gonna own it,” she continued.
To make her “own” the line finally, she was asked by the Direk Tonet to say it out loud in public, which she obliged.
Anne continued that she continues to get comments from netizens referencing the line, but she firmly shared that she is not affected by it.
“It’s okay, I’m not affected by it kasi I know the truth naman but yun nga sabi nga ni Erwan (Heussaff) sa akin, it’s so iconic now.”
Curtis also said that she never shared her side on the incident as she did not want to add fuel to the fire. “Kasi at that point, anything I would’ve said parang it wouldn’t have mattered. Madaming nangyari sa gabing yun na hindi ko nalang sinabi kasi parang it makes no point bakit ako maglalaglag pa ng tao–– bakit pa?“
She added, “Okay na yun. Okay naman kasi tignan mo, bliness ako ni Lord ng bongga sa nangyari.”
