It was a star-studded weekend, to say the least.
From Friday (February 6) to Sunday (February 8), thousands of fans of the OG Filipina pop group SexBomb Girls descended to the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City for the three-night extension of their reunion concert series.
The Get Get Aw! rAWnd 3 to 5 was not only a night filled with nostalgia for long-time supporters of the team, but also served as a venue to see them join forces with many acts.
On the first night, headlines were immediately made as the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid participated in the sold-out show.
Cheers erupted further as SexBomb finally shared the stage together with the wildly popular P-pop girl group BINI.
The following night, on rAWnd 4, the guestlist was composed of Jona, Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia—who once again reunited as La Diva, the APO Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes and Buboy Garovillo, and Sam Concepcion.
Izzy Traquina, a former member, also stunned everyone by showing up and even standing with her fellow SexBomb Girls onstage that evening.
Guests aside, another highlight of the night was the surprise propisal of Joshua Zamora to member Jopay Paguia.
On the final night on Sunday, rAWnd 5 saw special guests like Gary Valenciano, Zsazsa Padilla, and Ice Seguerra.
Originally a lone show in December, the reunion expanded to the series that it became amid high demand from fans, with the digital queue for rAWnd 4 alone reaching as high as over 100,000 on ticket selling day.
The team, widely considered to be the most popular girl group of the 2000s, was formed in 1999 through the Philippines’ longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga!
Their popularity reached its peak in the early to mid-2000s, as the unit composed of Rochelle, Jopay, Evette, Weng, Izzy, and Monique released their massively successful singles like The Spaghetti Song, Halukay Ube, and Bakit Papa?, among others.
Moreover, the entire group also had their own television series, Daisy Siete, which still holds the title of being the longest-running daytime drama series in the Philippines, airing from 2003 to 2010.
