On Friday, January 30, during a meeting with yhe economic team, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed government agencies to expedite the implementation of key infrastructure projects.
Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro relayed at a press briefing, “Aniya, ‘Let’s move forward.’ Tunay na reporma at kongkretong aksiyon ang ipapatupad ng Pangulo.”
Furthermore, Marcos also urged all agencies to push forward with their programs and projects, with him also requiring them to submit progress reports every two weeks.
This will help monitor the phase-by-phase development of the projects being implemented under their jurisdiction.
“Ipag-uutos din ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang pagmo-monitor sa mga ahensiya at kanilang mga proyekto kada dalawang linggo para makita ang progress or progreso nito,” shared the Palace official. “Huwag ninyong subukang magbigay ng maling report.”
She added, “Ang sinabi niya, kapag nagkaroon ng report, ayaw niya na dahil lang sa magkakaroon ng monitoring every two weeks ay maliin ang report o papogiin ang report. So, ayaw ng Pangulo ng maling report.”
Castro also noted that officials or personnel submitting false or inaccurate reports may suffer consequences, such as dismissal from service, among others.
Meanwhile, in the same meeting, strategies to boost the country’s economy, including digitalization to accelerate employment were also discussed. The President was also said to have ordered the acceleration of infrastructure projects, especially classrooms.
Among other priorities are poverty alleviation and social protection; economic growth and employment; health, education, and human capital development; and sustainable and inclusive development.
