GMA Integrated News reporter Bam Alegre became the subject of a report after he was figured in an accident while carrying out his duties.

According to him, he was assigned to cover the return of those that were rescued from the cargo vessel M/V Devon Bay, which capsized at the West Philippine Sea last January 23.

10 feet. 18 feet. Hindi ko alam paano sukatin. Basta nang mahulog ako sa gilid ng barko, tila isang segundo akong nakalutang sa ere bago bumulusok sa dagat,” he narrated the incident that took place in the wee hours at Pier 13 in Manila.

“Habang nakalubog, hindi ko makapa ang ilalim. Malalim. Hindi pa ako handa na mag-flashback ang buong buhay ko,” Alegre continued as he told to himself at that moment that he needed to float to be seen by other people.

Tinandaan ko ang training. Lutang = langoy aso. Muscle memory. Padyak. Padyak. Gumana! Nakakapit. Nakaligtas,” he added.

The Kapuso reporter also could not help himself but make a joke as he detailed how he asked for rescue.

He, however, stressed: “Pero seryoso, nagpapasalamat sa mga tumulong.

May wake-up call din. Hindi pa oras. Dapat bigyang saysay ang panibagong buhay,” his original post ended.

Meanwhile, in a follow-up post on Tuesday, he shared more as he continues to recover from the accident.

The reporter added that he even told the newsroom that he is able to do a live report, without him realizing that he sustained wounds from the fall.

Instead, the network had decided to bring to the hospital, where his wounds were treated.

Nakauwi na. Unang araw. Makapangyarihan ang Panginoon,” he added.
