It is the first in Asia and sixth in the world.
On its official website, the Portals Organization officially announced the opening of the next Portal sculpture. This one, will make its debut in the Philippines, where it will be located in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
This structure will open on January 21, 2026, and once opened, the Manila Portal will provide a 24/7 livestream and connect it with existing Portals in Vilnius, Lithuania; Lublin, Poland; Dublin, Ireland); Philadelphia, United States; and Ipswich, United Kingdom.
It will also be having a connection with the upcoming Portal in Piauí (Brazil) and further countries opening their Portals later this year.
According to Portals, the decision to place the Manila Portal in BGC is mainly due to it being known as a “dynamic cultural hub, known for its public art, modern infrastructure, and vibrant cultural life.”
“Home to both thoughtfully designed residential neighborhoods and many of the Philippines’ leading global businesses, BGC embodies a forward-looking spirit – making it an ideal environment to host Asia’s first Portal, opening a pure window to cultures from around the world,” it added.
For his part, the founder of the Portald Organization, Benediktas Gylys told, “The opening of our first Portal in Asia is a powerful and exciting moment for us. Bringing the Portal to BGC in Manila – a city known for genuine warmth and deep sense of human connection – expands our vision of a world connected not by borders, but by direct human encounter. We cannot wait to welcome Filipinos into this shared global experience.”
Enrique B. Manuel Jr., Chief Operating Officer, Bonifacio Global City, meanwhile, shared, “We are delighted to introduce Portals to the Philippines and, for the first time, to Asia.“
He continued, “At BGC, we draw inspiration from experiences that bring communities together and celebrate culture and diversity. With Portals and at BGC, we hope to create a new space for connection – one that not only engages our community, but also proudly shares the vibrancy and richness of Filipino culture with the world.”
The Manila Portal will be officially unveiled on 5th Avenue at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City, with the opening ceremony scheduled for January 21 at 6:00 pm (Philippine time).
Since their inauguration in 2021, Portals have grown into a global network, with Portals.org partnering with cities, governments, and private organizations to build Portals worldwide.
